Customize Your WordPress Blog

WordPress is really taking the Web by storm. This is because it is so easy to set up a blog in WordPress and gives you tremendous flexibility. But simply setting up a WordPress blog on your site and leaving the template set to the default will not separate your blog from others. There are literally millions of WordPress blogs being set up everyday. What you need to do is customize your WordPress Blog.
The single-most important customization that you can do to your blog is the look and feel. To change the look and feel of a WordPress blog, one need only switch the theme. There are many themes that can be found on the Web and many are free. When you first explore different themes on the web you feel elated knowing that your site is going to stand out above the rest. You install the new theme on your blog and voila! Instant uniqueness. But then over time you see two, three.
maybe ten or more sites that are all using the same theme. Yikes! Your blog is no longer standing out (at least from a look-and-feel perspective).
Another problem when you customize your WordPress blog with themes that are commonly available is that it is a time consuming process to find the one(s) you want. Many people will start their search at WordPress.net. There are many themes available for free. But if you’ve ever tried to use WordPress’s search with some kind of niche keyword, e.g., Stock Market, etc., you will find that the search is not very helpful at all. The themes are very generic and not very keyword specific. Suddenly, your ability to customize your WordPress blog becomes hampered.
What is needed is the ability to quickly create your own template that not only makes your blog stand out and look great but is quick easy to create.
Sounds like a pipe dream, doesn’t it? It’s not and I am going to let you in on a big secret that I found that can help you do just that . You;ll not only have the ability to create a truly unique theme but you’ll be able to customize it any way you feel you want. You can add your own backgrounds, photos, artwork, etc. The sky is the limit.
Not sure what kind of theme you want to go with? This secret package will randomly create a theme for you. Then when you find the theme that looks good, you can customize your WordPress Blog by changing the various options available to you. What options can you change? You can change the colors, the background, the fonts, the styles, the headers and footers, and the menus. You can structure your whole theme around WordPress or choose Drupal and Joomla if you so choose. You can even structure the site to work as generic HTML.
So what is this secret product that can magically transform your blog (or site) into a unique, fun, and fantastic looking design in a matter of seconds? In my resource box, I have given you a link where you can find this incredible product. The creators give you the ability to download a trial version so why on earth would you not even give it a try? You know have no excuse whatsoever to not customize your WordPress blog.
Chiropractic Blog Mistakes That Can Kill Your Blogging Strategy

Article by Andrea Kropp
Having a chiropractic blog is a good thing. But you probably aren’t blogging for your health or because you enjoy typing, right? You created (or are thinking about creating) your chiropractic blog to achieve a specific purpose in your practice. For most chiropractors, the underlying purpose seems to be search engine marketing. If this sounds like you, you’ve probably been told that:
1. Regular, original content on your website will bring in free, commercially relevant traffic from search engines.
2. Visitors to your website will read the blog and be impressed with your knowledge and dedication to patient education.
3. They will call to set appointments with you.
4. The whole scheme is free except for the time you spending actually blogging.
All of these statements are true PROVIDED THAT you do things the right way and don’t sabotage your own efforts through stinginess, shortcuts or inattention to detail. In particular, notice that the whole sequence depends on succeeding with part 1. If you set up the blog incorrectly or write without a search engine plan in mind, then you won’t reap the benefits of having a chiropractic blog.
In our experience this is where blogs of chiropractors go wrong:
You Must Place the Chiropractic Blog on Your Website, Not a Free Blogging Site
Blogging is a content-driven strategy for bringing in search engine traffic. But for this strategy to work, you must make sure that your website (not some free blogging site) gets ‘credit’ from search engines as the original source of the content. If your chiropractic blog is on your own site and you have original content there, then it will help attract traffic to a place where you can try to do something with it.
This sounds so obvious, but it is amazing how many chiropractors get lured into using a free blogging platform like Blogger or Blogspot for their blog. When you place original content that you produced on Blogspot.com, you are only helping to build the authority and traffic of Blogspot.com. Period. Full Stop. While it’s true that visitors can click to your chiropractic website from Blogspot, it’s equally true that they can click on a competitor’s ad or someone else’s article and never arrive at your website. So blogging on Blogspot when you’re trying to attract visitors to your own site is like putting an addition on your neighbor’s house and expecting the value of your own house to rise…
The right set-up is to self-host a WordPress-based chiropractic blog on your own domain. This set-up places the chiropractic blog on your own domain and all content you create is credited to you. NOTE: This is different from WordPress.com which has the same issues as Blogger.
Your Chiropractic Blog Must Use the Phrases that People Actually Search For
I see a lot of chiropractor blog posts that contain great content, but don’t reflect the words that patients use when they have a health problem. This works against your SEO goals for two reasons. First, search engines take their primary cue from the words on the page. If the words on the page don’t match the words typed into the search box, then your post won’t show. Second, patients need to recognize themselves in the text. Don’t use ‘hypertension’ if most of your patients use the phrase ‘high blood pressure’. Don’t use ‘neural impingement’ if your patients would say ‘pinched nerve’. Keep your intended audience in mind. They may not recognize the more technically correct synonyms and you’ll lose a potential phone call.
A related issue is that many chiropractor blog posts are about two or more topics. This makes it hard for a search engine to figure out when to show the post as a search result. Is it about Topic A or Topic B? You want your chiropractor blog post to fit into precisely one category. Ask yourself, “What is this post about?” The answer should be short and succinct. If you find yourself saying ‘and’ that means you need to break the content into two separate posts.
The way to solve this issue is by researching commonly searched phrases ahead of time and then deliberately including those phrases in your chiropractic blog content. A great way to research local searches is to type “CITY AILMENT” into a search engine and see what longer phrases are suggested. For example, when you type “Chicago Headache” or “Chicago Migraine” into Google, the top five suggestions are:
1. Chicago headache…clinic, specialist, and pain center, treatment, clinic little village
2. Chicago migraine…clinic, relief, headache clinic, treatment, headaches
You should pick one and only one of these as the main keyword for your next chiropractic blog post. If you pick “Chicago migraine relief” you would want to use “migraine relief” in the blog post title and three to five times in the body. Make sure you also fill in the meta data for the post and include migraine relief in the description and keywords.
Warning: You Must Own Your Own Domain Name
Generating traffic makes your chiropractic blog a more valuable business asset-it creates a kind of equity that gets measured by web analytics packages. So to continue with the housing analogy we used earlier, investing a lot of time and energy to attract visitors to a website you don’t actually own would be like remodeling an apartment you rent.
Lesser Concerns
The three issues above are the most important to get right on your chiropractic blog. Once you’ve got those nailed, you can look into advanced topics such as:
1. Blog syndication through RSS and social media sites
2. Good internal linking between blog posts
3. Building backlinks to your chiropractic blog pages
Chiropractic Blog Bonuses
The great thing about having a content-rich chiropractic blog is that you can use the same content to create an e-book, a newsletter or an email auto responder series. Invest in good content the first time and you’ll have many future uses for it.
Link Building – An Ongoing SEO Requirement

Article by Larry Bell
If you do not make regular efforts to promote your web site online, it may not be possible to achieve your company goals. One of the prerequisites of online success nowadays is good link popularity.
It’s clearly evident that Google (and other engines) place great emphasis on the link availability of a website in their ranking algorithm (the techno-speak to the maths employed to calculate the ranking). Therefore it becomes important that you seriously consider your link building needs. What you ought to remember this is that building links is definitely an ongoing need. In other words, you cannot stop saying that you have acquired enough links for the website and you do not require anymore more back-links. The day you stop linking that day your internet site begins regressing within the listings because your competitors online will likely be continuing their promotional efforts and link building efforts. Engines like google are impartial with regard to ranking websites. Therefore if your competitors outdo you with regards to your building backlinks, after that your place is going to be taken through your competitors with better backlink building.
Moreover, many new websites are launched frequently in most niche. In order to maintain stability with regard to your site ranking you’ll want to increase the amount of links to your site from reliable sources.
Thirdly, some of the links that you have integrated days gone by may expire or become non-functional. During a period of time such non-functional links will lessen your overall links count. To take care of balance here you’ll want to build links continually which means your website’s ranking isn’t affected as a result of dead links. The engines don’t work on actual numbers, instead preferring to consider averages. This can be mainly due to the fact that some link directories are down when the engine goes searching for your link, and thus your link is not visible to them. This could be the truth around the popular SEO friendly directories which cannot manage the amount of listings on the site – or simply more to the point their server cannot cope.
By looking into making consistent building links efforts you’ll be able to create your web site better every day and you may limit the number of online competitors. Just because you should secure a great deal of back links to your website it’s not necassary to blindly use any strategy to build links. Just the most legitimate building links strategies ought to be used. An incorrect selection of building links strategies can put your website’s reputation to risk. Therefore it is vital to work with only approved building links strategies which may have proven results. Most webmasters will not have time to build links for his or her websites just what exactly they certainly is usually to hire a link building company to manage their backlink building needs. This will assist if that company is ethical and uses quality and diverse linking strategies. However, some building links companies are unscrupulous and will ask you to pay for links on certain sites, or even in fact you will end up lured to buy these to be about the front with the linking site.
Beware, if Google look at you with paid links your web site is going to be de-listed and you’ll have to produce for resubmission. That doesn’t mean that when you place the house so that you will go back to the identical position you’re in. Google will “punish” your web site for your crime and you’ll be dropped to your much lower position along with your links will probably be removed, which means you will need to start again.

Blog vs Static Website

Blog vs Static Website is there a difference between a blog and a Web site? Yes and no.
There are two types of sites. Blogs and static websites. Blogs are organized by dates and categorized by recent post/content displays. A static site, the content is organized by content and not by date or categories.
To develop a static HTML website from scratch. You will need to use a software like Dreamweaver or FrontPage. Others use Notepad. Notepad is all you need if you have the know how to write HTML code.
Blogs on the other hand is designed to handle easy content updates. I use a WordPress blog. It has built in functionality to easily update, share and archive content in your site. Blog post show up on post page. Clicking on the headline of a post will take you to a permalink page that only displays that one specific post and comment. Add a category and tags to your post. Now your readers have the ability to find anything you have written.
Blogs have the ability to post pages as the homepage, but you can create a static page for your homepage. This is very simple to change. All you do is go to general page in your dashboard and click on your radio button to the static page you created.
WordPress plugins. Their are thousands of different plugins made by developers that can be used freely. There are plugins like SEO pack, Google page rank, xml sitemap, super captcha plugin and many more.
If you regularly add content to your blog daily. It will be indexed more frequently by search engines like Google.
Blog vs Static websites. You must know by now I prefer using a blog than a static site. I have created many static sites in the past. But I find it so much user-friendly and there are so many features you can use to customize your site. I highly recommend using a WordPress blog than a static site.

Seo Tips : How to Get Google Page 1 Ranking

Google is the number one search engine on the internet, so mastering your SEO techniques to get a high ranking on Google is very important if you want to increase the traffic to your articles or website.
What is SEO ? (Search Engine Optimisation)
When people search the internet for something, they do so using a search engine, like Google, where they type in one or several keywords into a search box. Google will then show them a list of webpage links which are most relevant to the keywords submitted. The higher your article pages are up this list increases your chances of being selected by the searcher. Page 1 ranking on Google gives you a tremendous advantage. To achieve a high page 1 ranking you need to master SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). SEO is the art of structuring your article (or website) to give it maximum recognition by search engines.
How to use Keywords for SEO
Keyword Density
Keyword use is a very important SEO tool. Keywords are simply those words which define your article’s subject. One of the main ways a search engine like Google works is simply to seek out the keywords that have been entered into the search box. It will give preference to those web pages which have a high number of the relevant keywords included on the web page. It is therefore very important to pay attention to the “keyword density” in your articles. For SEO, make sure that your keywords are used frequently, and are spread throughout your article. Highlighting some of your keywords can also be a useful SEO tool because Google will also assume that the words which you choose to highlight in an article are important to your subject matter. However it is important not to overdo things. Too many keywords and your ranking will suffer (not to mention, your article’s construction and flow will suffer too) Google does not like web pages that are stuffed full of keywords. You must strike a good balance with your keywords. You need to demonstrate what your article is about, but also that it contains useful content on the subject, which is what your readers are looking for.
Keywords in Titles
Another important way to utilise your keywords for search engine optimisation is to use them in your titles. You are far more likely to achieve a page 1 Google ranking if your keywords are in your article title and in subtitles within the article. You are reinforcing to the search engines what your article’s subject matter is. Again don’t overdo it. Don’t create titles that are not relevant, just for the sake of creating titles.
Content is SEO King
The size and therefore perceived importance of your website or your article publishing website is also key to reaching Google page 1 ranking. Google loves a content rich website, but especially loves a website which continually adds fresh content. If you are writing for an article submission website it is therefore important to choose one that generally ranks well with Google. This will give your articles a “leg up” and so long as you use good SEO techniques within your articles you will have an excellent chance of achieving Google page 1 ranking. Getting your articles ranked highly in this way is relatively easy if you are on the right website.
Getting your own website a page 1 ranking will take more time and effort but it is achievable with good SEO techniques. If you are trying to get page one ranking for your own website then you will need to create several pages within it, all keyword rich, to convince Google that your site is a leading authority on your subject. Remember to have all the pages link to each other also. Add fresh content regularly to keep the search engines interested in your site and write relevant articles on article submission sites that allow you to include a link back to your site. Your site will gradually creep up the search engine rankings and your traffic will flow readily. As your traffic increases, so too will Google’s regard for your website, which will boost your ranking still further.
